Meet Alexis, a remarkable woman who, not long ago, found herself and her three children trapped in the shadows of domestic violence. Desperate for a way out, they turned to Crisis House for refuge and assistance. We provided them with the safe housing, counseling, and resources they needed to rebuild their lives.
Today, Alexis is a homeowner and a unionized journeyman plumber. She has not only survived but thrived, emerging as a shining example of strength and independence. Her incredible journey serves as a testament to the life-changing impact of our services.
Alexis's children have also flourished, thanks in part to our Camp HOPE program—a nurturing environment where they can heal and grow alongside their peers.
Now, Alexis is giving back in the most powerful way possible—by joining our Board of Directors. Her unique perspective as a survivor, coupled with her professional success, makes her an invaluable addition to our team. Her story is an inspiration to all who know her, a testament to the potential for recovery, and a beacon of hope for others who have experienced domestic violence.
