From Pimping to International
Drug Trafficking

Children of the Night staff is joined by over 2000 Alumni who frequently call to share their successes and offer help with our younger clients.

Some our alumni call with new problems or because they are haunted by their pasts.

In the last two weeks, calls have come in
to request assistance in
prosecuting a pimp who raped and
pimped girls
when they were 14 years old.

At the time of the rape,
these children refused to file a police report
because they were scared.

First hurdle in trying to help them report the pimp/traffickers from years past
is the statue of limitations.

One such case is now a Mortgage Banker although he had been arrested for
"international drug trafficking."

To further complicate the case,
the FBI and Federal Courts
sentenced him to "house arrest" because he agreed to become their informant "Snitch".
When he violated "house arrest" the
Federal Court
ONLY reprimanded him and placed him back on "house arrest."
A baby was born
from the rape and his DNA matches the baby who is now 30 years old.

The day the baby was born the pimp
came to the hospital
to warn the mother

"if the baby and mother
ever entered his life
he would kill them both"

At 14 she gave the baby up for adoption
and came to live in the
Children of the Night Home.

Today that baby is 30 years old
and wants to meet her father
and her siblings!

The statute of limitations has run and the mother is powerless to prove the rape
even though the DNA matches.

These circumstances require
Children of the Night to
stay involved in the lives of the
women we have rescued from prostitution.
.
A woman just about to reach her 40th birthday called crying frantically.

She says she is a "bad mother", has terrible relationships and her life is in shambles.

She cannot shake the fear and obsession of the night a 16 year old girl invited her to a party and a pimp organized a gang rape.

She was only 14 years old.

Then the gang put the "green light" on her.

(Slang used by criminals to give the
go ahead to carry out a crime on another)

Her sister called
Children of the Night
in 1998 and we
arranged an airline ticket
for her to go home.

She can't stop thinking about it and wants to make an attempt to punish him and relieve her pain and anxiety.

She discovers she is just a few days short of the statute of limitations running.
We instruct her to file a police report -
and she does and it is now an active case.

We have confirmed that the pimp/trafficker
is a registered sex offender.

.

Sherry called from Perris, CA, desperate for help for herself
and her newborn.

Her pimp found her -10 years later
and he threatened to kill her
via Facebook Messenger

He even included her address
and she knew she was no longer safe.

Our caller, like many of our callers,
did not want to involve the police.

Our case manager located a
Sex Trafficking Victims Residential Program and we transported Sherry and her baby via Lyft and she was placed by midnight.

Since her rescue, our case management team has helped her with mental health counseling, clothing, hygiene, and an appointment with our volunteer dermatologist for tattoo removals.

She has a high school diploma
so we are helping her with
resume preparation and job search.

Ronnie lived in our shelter home 5 years ago. Now he is 19 and wanted to start our online tutoring for the high school diploma, again!

We never give up on our kids.
We meet them where they are
no matter the circumstances.

We gave Ronnie the GED Practice Exam, and to our surprise, he successfully passed.

We scheduled Ronnie
for the GED Social Studies Exam,
which he passed.

Ronnie's next step is to test for the
GED Science Exam, and GED RLA test
which is scheduled for this week.

We expect Ronnie will be among
our high school graduates
during our ceremony in the fall.

Simultaneously Case Managers
have been helping Ronnie
with his resume and he has been hired at
an Assisted Living and Adult Day Care.
.

Once he obtains his GED,
our case management team will focus on helping Ronnie enroll in college.

Ronnie wants to get his Med Tech License and eventually become a nurse practitioner.

Above Our Tutors at Work with Prostituted Youth
Throughout America.

Jazmean, our Supervisor of Case Management has been working hard to
create a back to school event for
Children of the Night.

She knows that more kids hit the streets
and are noticeable once school starts and
they need as much encouragement as possible to go back to school.

One of Our Global Tutors
.
Tiffany Nguyen competed at the
"Miss California USA 2023"

Tiffany was proud to represent her hometown and spread advocacy to the prevalence of sex trafficking not only in our local community, but also as a global human rights issue..

She was introduced as she walked the runway

“Tiffany loves working for
Children of the Night, a nonprofit that helps rescue and provide services for victims of sex trafficking and abuse."

We do not sit behind our desks
and wait for our young people
to fall back on the streets.

We are out on the streets and in the community where our children live.

We pay close attention to our young people we have rescued from the street
and we maintain contact with them
for several years.

Children of the Night is unlike other organizations who rescue and dump these children on government social services.

Children of the Night staff is committed
to every little detail required for
transition to a successful adult life.
Private donations make our
life saving work
possible and distinguish
Children of the Night
from other organizations funded by government where
one size fits all.

Our staff stands alone in
their commitment to
the children with whom we work.
