Dear Fellow Farber Families,

I would like to relay a point I heard in a Dvar Torah last week. We find ourselves currently reading parshiot focused on the nitty gritty details of the service of the Mishkan. The Torah gives painstaking descriptions of even the smallest tasks that are done as part of the daily Avodah - translated simply as "work". It describes the clothes a Kohen wears as he scrapes away the ashes from the prior day's sacrifices before any new Korbanot can be offered.

While we regret not having a Mishkan or Temple, we are instructed to establish places of holiness amongst us, particularly houses of worship and Jewish education. And while the Avoda is now replaced with prayers, the hard, dirty work is still required. There are people around you that are doing considerable heavy lifting to help Farber Hebrew Day School function as a beacon of Jewish education. The staff, administration, board and so many volunteers put in so much effort every day.

Our annual event is the opportunity to demonstrate your support for our school and those that are toiling at these tasks. This year, attending the event will also demonstrate your support for Israel as we have incredible speakers discussing the current tribulations related to the ongoing war. Our honorees include current parents of high school students and an active board member, who have given so much of their time and resources to support and grow Farber. Thank you Josh and Rachel.

We have seen an out-pouring of support already for the event, but I urge all Farber parents to come and show your support for our school, our honorees and the state of Israel. This is a great way to satisfy your annual giving obligation that is in the tuition contract we sign every year.

There is still time to register and submit ads until 5:00 p.m. today.
