Praise to Jesus, my MarchiMin friends! I pray your weekend is off to a wonderful start---filled with Him and more Him, praise His great name!
As always there's lots going on here at MarchMin as every day brings us closer to the first day of filming The Gospel According to John. Let me get you up to date...
Alison's Choice
coming to Russia/Croatia in October...
Please enjoy this email I just received from the Russian broadcaster: "...Our studio in Kiev reports good progress with the translation of "Alison's Choice." They are working on the multi-voice dubbing and have finished about 60-70% of the voices. They plan to finish by the end of the month and the first broadcast of the movie will be in October."
It's astounding to see the Lord
take "our little movie"...
and quietly, with no fanfare...reach lives across America and the world. We had a banner quarter on Amazon---tens of thousands viewing AC. Then there's Brazil, South Africa, Australia, UK...and soon coming, Russia/Croatia with South Korea in process. You who donated to the making of AC...behold the fruit of your sacrifice!
Our South African kids...
got a surprise visit from project leader, Sally Herman, this week. This was in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of a church we helped launch in the nearby village of Mabaloka. Sally is making year-end plans for clothing for the kids, further equipping our brand new Martin Tivane Children's Center, and another outreach visit to them, glory to Jesus!
On the John front...
each day means meeting after meeting as we gear up for the start of filming in Oct/Nov. Two producers, one here locally and one in Tel Aviv, are right now crunching numbers to get us a firm budget for the immediate filming the "Old John narration" scenes, which is where we'll begin.
To give you a BTS peek...it's actually quite a job trying to figure out every tiny detail. How much does a donkey cost for the day? How many pencils do we need?... So as soon as we get those numbers we "begin to roll." Like you, I simply "can't wait" to hear that first shout of "Action!"
We continue to seek the Lord for increase...
as it's now a matter of how good a film we can make. Using the donkey example, one donkey will do but it would be a whole lot better if we could afford two---or three! Again, this is the Gospel...and if any film deserves our best foot forward it's His Gospel, glory to Jesus!
And so we "soldier on"...
It's become one of my favorite phrases---soldier on! On our knees, hands raised in worship, crying out to He who makes the impossible happen and turns all around "for the good of those who love Him"...we soldier on!
Have a great weekend, my MarchMin friend! Thank you so much! We look to...all together now...Jesus!
