WindRider 10 | The Multihull Challenge
Sailing World Magazine editor, Dave Reed challenges multihull sailors and manufacturers in this months' edition. He points out that many in the traditional sailing community believe multihulls are "fringe" and attract "speed freaks". In order to change this image, according to Dave, we need to educate U.S. Yachting Clubs about affordable and youth-specific sailboats they can incorporate into their sailing programs. With the prominance of multihulls in the America's Cup, (see last months' newsletter) and multihulls recently added back into the Olympics for 2016, multihull manufacturers are in a good position to create awareness and acceptance in the worldwide sailing community.
WindRider is right on target here. We can help the traditional monohull sailing community break into multihulls with the re-introduction of two models: The WR16 and the WR10. Now our family of boats, the WR 16, above left, WR 10 above right and WR 17, below left, will meet the needs of any level and interest for sailors and aspiring sailors.

WindRider 17 |
Anyone can learn to sail quickly - even children as young as 5 - with the WR 10. At around 100 pounds, it can be loaded on top of a car or placed in a pick-up bed. Feel at ease knowing your kids won't tip over as they learn to sail in as little as 10 minutes.
The WR 16, with it's sleek design, will turn heads and performs like a little race car. Easy to assemble, easy to sail, simple furling sail, foot pedal steering (like all WindRider sailing trimarans) and cockpit seating will create a fun sailing experience each and every time you are on the water.
These are not "fringe" boats, but affordable, durable, portable, safe, simple and fun for solo sailing or a full family outing on the water. |
