With the beginning of the new insurance plan year, July 1, 2024, quickly approaching, we want to send some reminders and details regarding the transition to Regence BlueShield of Idaho.
As previously announced, beginning with the FY25 plan year, the medical coverage for the State Health Plan (medical, pharmaceutical and vision) will be serviced by Regence BlueShield of Idaho (Regence) rather than Blue Cross of Idaho (Blue Cross). Dental insurance will remain with Blue Cross of Idaho.
Regarding insurance cards:
- The State Office of Group Insurance (OGI) has communicated that enrolled participants will be receiving new medical ID cards for both Regence and/or Blue Cross insurance in the mail late June. These will be mailed to the address listed on your medical enrollment application, unless you have updated it with HR prior to or during the recent open enrollment period (April/May 2024). Please continue to use the medical ID cards you have through June 30, 2024.
- If you are signed up for dental insurance, you will receive two medical ID cards from Blue Cross that will show coverage for you and covered family members
- If you are signed up for medical insurance, you will receive multiple medical ID cards from Regence, one card for each covered family member.
- You will also have access to an app for each servicer (Regence and Blue Cross) that will have electronic medical ID cards. We will share the information as soon as it's available.
