New York City just became the first in the country to offer virtual appointments and mail order abortion kits through its public health system. On Monday, NYC Health + Hospitals launched what they called “Virtual ExpressCare” that will connect New Yorkers to abortion providers and distributors. 

The program will be accessible to women who are up to ten weeks gestation. All they have to do is schedule an appointment and hop on a video call with a healthcare professional. After that, the woman will provide a New York City address and then abortion pills will be mailed.

Having productive dialogues with your representatives about abortion is possible.

When a friend of mine told me about an upcoming listening session with my US congresswoman, I’ll be honest; I was very skeptical. I didn’t think there was anyone who is more famously pro-choice, maybe even pro-abortion in Congress than my representative. She’s well known for her opposition to the Born-Alive Infant Protection Act and she frequently makes headlines for her statements supporting abortion. It seemed like nothing I could say would make any difference, if I was even lucky enough to get a chance to speak at all.

The most anti-Life presidential administration yet has reportedly given grants totaling around $1.4 million to two Texas Planned Parenthood affiliates.



The money came from the 2021 American Rescue Plan, a $1.9 trillion spending bill purportedly meant to aid the nation’s recovery from COVID. Of that package, the Department of Health and Human Services sent $16 million to Planned Parenthoods across the country. The money was given to Texas Planned Parenthoods in January 2022 as part of an effort to undercut the Texas Heartbeat Act, which became effective in September 2021.
