"God's Work, Whose Hands?"
I'm just young enough to remember when the movie "High School Musical" debuted on the Disney Channel and to think it was cool. The final song, "We're All in This Together" showed how high school cliques and popularity lines had been crossed to form a united group of friends.
This weekend, we are celebrating "God's Work, Our Hands" in partnership with ELCA Lutheran churches across the country. Our signature service project, the 4th Annual Community Fair, is on Saturday from 10am to 2pm. If you are able to volunteer, we'd love to have you there. Setup begins at 8:30 am and clean up will finish around 3:30 pm. If you can't volunteer, please do what you can to invite people. Everyone is welcome! On Sunday, we will give thanks for all the ways we serve God with special prayers and anointing for service as we gather for worship at 11am.
All of Zion's ministries belong to God, and we do not depend on only a few to do the work God calls us to do: love our neighbor. When we say, "We're all in this together," we know that God's love reaches every person and every corner of the world through us. God's work, whose hands? Yours and mine, because — we're all in this together!
See you Saturday,
Cantor Kurt R. Schmidt
