Weekly News from Zion and our Ministries Under the Cross: Evergreen Academy & Nina's Place

July 31, 2024

This afternoon, Evergreen Academy is hosting its first-ever talent show, Evergreen's Got Talent, in conjunction with the End of Summer Camp Celebration. Those parents, families, and friends in attendance will have the opportunity to hear songs from all of the different weeks of camp, as well as special performances from singers, dancers, musicians, and readers.

YOU are invited to join us for this sure-to-be memorable event at 3:00 p.m. in Katie Luther Chapel. Thanks, especially, to our Associate Cantor and Music Teacher extraordinaire Peter Rizzo for shepherding this from beginning to end.

Back to School Block Party: A Success!

Last Saturday, we participated in the City of Deerfield Beach's 3rd Annual Back to School Block Party. Thanks to Robin, Gail, Kurt, Alyssa and Jon, and friends from Deerfield Beach Community Cares and the Kiwanis Club of Deerfield Beach, it made for a great community event.

(FYI – Our tent banner for these events says "You are welcome here!")

Summer of Psalms

We're Getting There!

150 Psalms in 3 months...so it stands to reason that, as July comes to an end, we have 50 psalms left to read. The ones coming up are some of the most familiar and beloved of all the psalms.

It's not too late – check out the playlist on our website, open your Bible and do some reading, or follow us on social media and be blessed with the final stretch!

Worship at Zion: There's a place for you.

This Sunday at 11:00 a.m.

Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost

Apparently not satisfied by Jesus’ feeding of thousands, some who were there press him for a sign of his power; perhaps it is daily manna they want. As always in John’s gospel when people want a sign, Jesus offers himself. He is the bread come from heaven to give life to the world. He calls us to come to him and believe in him, and through that relationship to know the one who sent him.

Sunday's bulletin can be found on the homepage of our website.
