Officers Presented Life Saving Award
Rowlett Police Department Officers Alejandre and Williams were presented the Department’s prestigious Life Saving Award at this week's City Council meeting. On February 3, Officer Alejandre responded to a welfare check on the Dalrock Road bridge where a young person appeared ready to jump. She stopped oncoming traffic and engaged the individual in conversation. As he perched on the edge, Officer Williams approached from behind and pulled him to safety. Their swift actions prevented a tragic outcome. Join us in celebrating Officers Alejandre and Williams for their exemplary service to the citizens of Rowlett. They truly embody the very essence of what it means to be a Rowlett Police Officer! More info...

33rd Rowlett Vet Recognized
At this week's City Council meeting, we honored and recognized our 33rd Rowlett Vet: Leon Johnson. Mr. Johnson served for 27 years, attaining the rank of Command Sergeant Major. The City instituted the Rowlett Vet program in 2017 to show appreciation to those members in our community who have dedicated their time in service to our nation. Assisting with the selection and recognition of honorees is the Veterans Resource and Outreach Center (VROC). The Rowlett Veterans Recognition Program also helps bring awareness to veterans’ issues in our community – what is being done and what is still needed. We hope you will join us as we welcome Leon Johnson into the ranks of our Rowlett Vets! More info...
