Congratulations to Charity Alford!  She will be awarded the Denville Sunrise Rotary award "Service above self" on January 16.

Builders Club had a very busy December.  We started the month collecting pet food and blankets for the Denville Animal Shelter.  ACO Meredith Petrillo was very thankful for all of the donations.  We also rang bells in front of the Acme for the Salvation Army.  This is an annual event for the Builders Club and this year raised $737.70.  Thank you to all who made donations to our pet drive and to the members of Builders Club who gave up part of their Saturday to ring bells.

This Tuesday, January 15th, the Valleyview Science Olympiad Team will be heading to the Regional Tournament for a full day of competition in fourteen different events.  Mrs. Kasper and Mrs. Stiles are extremely proud of the nineteen dedicated students who have been preparing since the beginning of the school year!  We wish them good luck as they test their knowledge and skill in events such as Anatomy and Physiology, Boomilevers, Disease Detectives, Experimental Design and more.

The Valleyview Green Team and the Denville Green Sustainability Committee are co-hosting a viewing of the award-winning environmental film "Bag It" after school on Wednesday, January 23rd. The film raises awareness of the impact of plastics on our environment, oceans and people, and challenges viewers to be part of the solution in a positive way. Parents and caregivers of students are welcome to attend, although space is limited.  Please email  lstiles@denville.org  or  folarte@denville.org  for additional information and to reserve your spot.

Each holiday season, Ms. Faliveno's students collect items for veterans in need.  This year, they teamed up with a transitional shelter for homeless veterans in NJ and donations were provided before Christmas.
