Denville Community Facilities Concerns and Possibility of Leasing St. Mary's Prep
September 27, 2019
The Denville Township School District has been grappling with the lack of instructional space for over two decades. Thankfully in the school year 2018-19 the district was able to eliminate the use of substandard space (trailers, hallways, etc.) for instruction. Due to several factors, the availability of instructional space is still a concern.
In June of 2019, Saint Mary's Prep closed and is now available as a possible lease for the district. This is an ongoing process and nothing has been decided including the terms of the proposed lease. The church and diocese are not interested in selling the building.

Spotlight on our Schools -Lakeview
Welcome back to Lakeview! Life is all about beginnings and this promises to be a wonderful one. It is so nice to see the students come off the bus with smiling faces and greeting old friends and meeting new ones. Working together we will create a learning environment where all the children of Lakeview are successful.
We were thrilled to see so many parents at Back to School Night. Thank you for joining us to meet your child's teacher and discover grade level and classroom expectations. We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with you at our conferences in October.
On September 28th, the A.R. Spinola PTA kicked off the year with our annual Fun Fest. It was a fabulous day and provided an opportunity for families and staff to visit with each other while enjoying delicious food, games and rides. Special thanks to all the volunteers who made this event possible.
The Denville Rotary and Sunshine Rotary visited our third graders on September 17th. They provided each of the students with their own personal dictionary. The Rotarians' informative visit and generosity let us know we are part of a very special community.
In September, our fall safety patrol members were sworn. The students wrote essays describing the reasons why they wanted to be a safety patrol. The fifth grade students were very excited to take on this leadership role.
The faculty continues to facilitate a learning community that is committed to providing the highest quality of instructional strategies and methodologies to enable our children to internalize information and apply it to a variety of content areas. These skills will enable our children to be competitive in today's society. We are very excited and honored to share this amazing year with your children.
