We are so proud of our students' unique talents, abilities and strengths. We recognize that each student has a special talent that contributes positively to our school. We are so proud of our students for displaying Rocket Behavior! Students are demonstrating great growth academically, socially and emotionally. We have witnessed many of our students excel in various areas and demonstrate great leadership. At Riverview, we want to help students recognize their unique talents and empower them to find their voice in order to positively impact our world. Ten fourth and fifth grade students qualified and competed in the National Geographic Geography Bee. Hailey Bachryj won first place and Kevin Harris came in second place. Great job! We are so proud of all that participated in this challenge. Four Riverview students qualified for and participated in the Denville/Rockaway Women's Club Spelling Bee in which Lucas Zablocki came in first place! We are so proud! Students in third grade are leading our school wide assembly on Kindness. The K-Kids continue to find ways to help support many wonderful charities. The students of the month are selected each month based on their ROCKET behavior, strong work ethic and positive demeanor. We feel great pride when our students demonstrate responsibility, optimism, compassion, kindness, empathy and a team player attitude each day.
We are eagerly awaiting the BEAM projector to be installed in our All Purpose Room to make indoor recess even more fun and engaging for our students. As the winter continues to bring cold weather and there is more indoor recess, we encourage students to demonstrate sportsmanship and ROCKET behavior towards their peers. We want to ensure we always treat each other with kindness.
Our peaceful dismissal has allowed us to end the day in a peaceful, quiet and organized manner. Every classroom joins the dismissal meeting on "Google Hang Outs" and watches via their SMARTBoards the afternoon announcements and hears all about "Who ROCKED It Today!" It has been going great and we are grateful for our students working to end our day in a quiet and peaceful manner. We are looking forward to our Riverview Movie Night on January 25th.
