- Riverview Elementary School is off to a great start! We welcomed back an eager, excited, and enthusiastic group of students. We are so happy to welcome all of our new students, along with all of our new Kindergarteners. Welcome to the Riverview Family!
O
- Our sensory room is in progress! Students can take advantage of this multi-sensory room specially designed to provide a sensory experience. We will create a schedule to allow for a broad use of the room. This will offer various students the opportunity to utilize this space and allow us to further meet the needs of all students here at Riverview.

- Community Meetings for all grades are the perfect start to our year. We welcomed all of our students back by sharing our school mission, what it means to be a Riverview Rocket, and getting excited about all that's to come in the 2018-2019 school year!
K
- Kindness continues to be a central focus for the students here at Riverview. In addition to our rigorous curriculum, we take pride in fostering an atmosphere where social emotional learning takes place and is embedded into all that we do. We are continuing with our morning meetings in order to create positive and safe classroom learning environments.

- Exciting events are planned for the year! It was so wonderful to see so many of our parents at our Back to School Night, during which we celebrated our many accomplishments including receiving State School of Character and Promising Practices Awards. We are proudly displaying our banners outside our school. Another exciting event that is coming soon is our APEX Fun Run on September 27! During this week, students are involved in ten minute lessons that focus on positive leadership skills. The lessons and activities center on the acronym "STRONG" (Selfless, Trustworthy, Refuel, Overcome, Next Level and Grateful). Students then get the opportunity to participate in class games and activities at recess. The students are responding well to the positive messages that support our commitment to promoting social and emotional learning. Other wonderful upcoming events include our PTA Welcome Tea, Ice Cream Social, and the World Dance Residency.

- Teamwork! We appreciate and value your partnership. Thank you parents for your all that you do and for your continued support! Thank you to our Davenport PTA for hosting the Staff luncheon and breakfast, as well as providing the treats for our Back to School Night and for all that you do to support our school throughout the year. Thank you to the Foundation of Denville for making our residencies possible! We look forward to working collaboratively with our learning community to ensure our students have a positive, productive and successful school year.
