Valleyview, Lakeview and Riverview Schools will be participating in Hour of Code events throughout the week.  Many classes will also have special coding guests who will code alongside our students.    Riverview will offer a  Code On at Home  event, click  here  for details.  Lakeview will host a  Coding Family Night , click  here  for information.   Valleyview eight grade students will learn HTML Coding .   Happy Coding!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.   Throughout November, our students learned about gratitude with many lessons and activities including the third grade's "Cornucopia of Thanks".  It meant so much to our school community to celebrate and honor our Veterans at our Veterans Day assembly.  We thank you all for your service and your sacrifice.  We are so proud of our First and Second graders, who worked with Mrs. Atkins from Morris Arts and put on a beautiful World Dance performance.  Thank you to the Foundation of Denville for supporting this residency again this year.  The second grade students enjoyed making bread, thank you to the PTA for funding this learning experience. The Riverview students also learned about "Optimism" through the fourth grade student-led assembly.  The fourth grade students did an amazing job teaching their peers how to be optimistic and demonstrate a "growth mindset". 

Next, our Riverview Rockets will be learning about compassion and how to show compassion towards themselves and others.  Our students will be participating in the Week of Code and a "Code A Thon" for our fourth and fifth grade students. During the Week of Code, students will also learn how to code alongside many special guests. Students will also be gathering canned goods to demonstrate their compassion for others.  Please check the Friday Folder for more details. 

We are looking forward to our annual PTA Holiday Shoppe this Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm at the All Purpose Room. Come join us for a fun day of shopping with our Riverview Families. Thank you to all of our PTA volunteers for organizing this wonderful event. 

The students have been practicing and preparing for our holiday band and choir concert  on December 18.  We can't wait to hear them perform!

During this busy month of December, we continue to help our students learn and grow.  We are proud to see the academic strides that our students are making while also remembering the importance of consistently demonstrating ROCKET behavior. 

 

To update Valleyview's library shelves, many print items have been removed due to condition, age or content. On Dec. 10 & 12, 2:30 - 3:30 PM the Valleyview library will be open to the public for the discarded book giveaway.  Click on the picture for more information.

 

Girl Scouts will be personalizing purchased items at the Lakeview Holiday Shop on Dec. 6 -7.  They will also be collecting toiletries for the Department of Child Protection.  Please consider bringing a donation to the Holiday Shop. Click  here for information.
