Lewisville Chamber Announces New President LEWISVILLE, Texas - April 2, 2013 - The Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce (LACC) announced today that Ray Hernandez, IOM will assume the role of President for the Chamber effective April 22, 2013. "We are excited to bring such a well-rounded chamber executive to our Chamber," said Kellie Fister Stokes, LACC Board Chair, stating "We are confident that Mr. Hernandez will open many doors for our organization. We started 2013 in a great place, and we anticipate that Ray will bring his vibrant personality, love for this industry, and passion for chambers of commerce to Lewisville. I cannot wait for our members to meet him." After six year tenure with the Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau, Ray Hernandez welcomes the new challenge and opportunity presented, stating "I am honored to continue to build on the steadfast foundation that Matt McCormick created alongside the leadership of the Lewisville Area Chamber Board of Directors. We will continue to provide relevance, return on investment and advocacy for our members and partners by Leading Business, Leading Lewisville." "The Chamber Selection Committee was delighted to recommend Ray Hernandez for the position of President of the Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce," stated Gary Lewis, President of Independent Bank, who led the Executive Selection Committee adding, "After an extensive search for qualified candidates, Ray was our unanimous choice. His success in building the chamber membership base, collation building and working with local governments impressed us all. Ray has been intimately involved in building the business base in the Kyle area plus the Austin/San Antonio corridor. We are pleased to welcome Ray and his family to our area." As the Executive Director in Kyle, Hernandez's accomplishments included assisting in the promotion of the $207 million TXDOT bond for road safety and improvements, providing solutions for small business owners with the passing of the TABC ordinance elections, and playing a leadership role on the North Hays ACC Steering Committee that helped bring an Austin Community College District campus to Kyle. Under Hernandez's guidance, the Kyle Chamber grew from an organization of 150 members to almost 400. |

About the City of Lewisville's Vision 2025
The city has started work on the Lewisville 2025 plan. This very ambitious project will take a comprehensive look at city operations and the city as a whole, with the goal of charting the city's course through the next decade. Lewisville 2025 is intended to be a reflection of our community values and aspirations -answering the question of where we want Lewisville to be when we hit our 100th birthday in 2025. It will be a guide for the management of growth and change, and a reference point for future decision-making. Basically, it is going to be a multi-year "to-do" list for the city.
Developing the plan will take many months of research, study and
discussion. Major issues that are sure to be a part of the plan include
land use, housing, infrastructure, quality of life, financial stability,
neighborhood vitality and service delivery.
Residents and the business community must be an integral part of creating
the Lewisville 2025 plan. There will be several committees formed to study
different aspects of the plan, and applications are available now to serve
on one of those committees.
Even for those unable to serve an active role in developing the plan, there
will be multiple ways to provide input and help shape this vision-creating
process. A town hall meeting will be held June 4 at the MCL Grand, and
everyone is invited to attend. There will be other public events as well as
an online survey, social media outlets and a dedicated website. All
Lewisville residents and business operators are invited to share their
ideas for their city's future, to contribute diverse viewpoints and ideas,
and to have a hand in creating a community their children and grandchildren
will enjoy for many years to come.
