Please keep the Haiti Mission Team in Your Prayers!
Our Indian Run UMC 2017 Haiti Mission departed bright and early this morning for their mission. Members of the 10 member team are Logan Armstrong, Brittany Barta, David Cockram, Sean Cotter, Mike Giannantonio, Greg Liening, Michelle Liening, Joyce Oiler, Natalie Pettit, and Missy Pittro. The team would like to extend their appreciation for the financial support of the congregation and asks that we hold them close in our prayers during their mission. The team is scheduled to again return to Les Cayes, Haiti, to stay with Pastor Claude in his VIM Guest House and work at the Pelerin United Methodist Church. They will also offer VBS time with the Haitian children. We are very excited to see what God will do through the team in Haiti. You can follow the team while they're away on the church Facebook page at www.facebook.com/IndianRun.

Weekly Grace Place Update
Don't miss the opportunity to talk with your child about what they are learning this week in Grace Place...
PRESCHOOL AND KINDERGARTEN
Basic Truth: Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Key Question: Who is there when you need Him?
Bottom Line: Jesus is there when I need Him.
Memory Verse: "You are everything I need." Psalm 119:57, NIrV
Bible Story Focus: Everyone needs Jesus. Healing the Deaf Man * Mark 7:32-37
1ST-6TH GRADES
January Theme:
Brain Games - Know More. Do More.
In John 1:19-42, we read John's account of Jesus' baptism. Jesus was about to start His public ministry. He shows up on the banks of the Jordan River where his cousin, John the Baptist, was baptizing people. John the Baptist recognized Jesus, not just as his cousin, but as God's promised Savior. John understood God's story and called out to the crowd, Look! The Lamb of God! He takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29, NIrV) That day, he pointed out to everyone who Jesus was and why they should know Jesus and start to follow Him.
Bottom Line: Discovering what God says helps you follow Jesus. The more we read God's Word, the more we understand about who Jesus is and why He came to earth. God's Word gives us clarity for what it means to believe in Jesus and follow Him with our lives. Our Memory Verse for January comes from Psalm 119:105. In Psalm 119:105, we read, Your word is like a lamp that shows me the way. It is like a light that guides me. (NIrV) When we dig into God's word, we start to know how God wants us to live. God's words act like a lamp that shows us the next steps to take on our journey through life. God's word points the way towards a growing relationship with Jesus.
THANK YOU
We are so grateful for the willing hearts of Ann Mytinger and Darla Hiner who lead our 3rd and 4th graders on Sunday. We were blessed with 70 children between the two services!
Contact Amy Catanella at 614-889-7728, ext 105 or
acatanella@indianrun.org
with questions or to volunteer.
