A Message from Headmaster Scott

Dear Archway Trivium Families,

I did a cliché parent thing this week. I asked my 7th grader how school went. He gave a 7th grade answer, “Good.” I asked him what was good about school that day. He didn’t have an answer. He liked being with his friends, but he couldn’t actually tell me anything about any of his lessons. As I shared this exchange, I remembered that I was once a child who couldn’t tell my parents anything about my lessons of that day. Not wanting to lose the moment, I asked him if he had ever seen grass grow. He had not, at least he had not taken the time to watch it happen. I shared with him that human souls grow like grass. Sure, the brilliant, memorable lessons have their place and they certainly make learning exciting, but the real growth in souls and in grass happens in almost imperceptible ways. Consistently engaging with beautiful truths moves us forward. It’s ok if your child doesn’t have a great story at the end of each day, as long as the “soul grass” keeps growing! Have a great weekend!

Heartily Devoted,

Clay Scott

Late Pick-up Policy

We have been doing very well with our on-campus student pick-up and drop-off routines as of late. Every year, it takes a few weeks for us to settle into a routine so that the pickup runs smoothly. Now that pick-up times are running efficiently, we ask parents to ensure they arrive on time to pick up their students.

We will begin enforcing our Late Pick-up Policy on Tuesday, September 5. Please make sure you are arriving within 30 minutes of the end of school to pick up your scholar in order to avoid being charged a late pick-up fee. Parents arriving after this time will be required to sign out their child from the MPR and may be assessed a $2 per minute, per student late fee. All late pick-up fees will be added to your Configio account and are due upon receipt. For more information, please see page 46 of our Family Handbook.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday - You will be charged from 3:35pm

Wednesday - You will be charged from 1:55pm

Half days - You will be charged from 12:25pm (excludes Half Day Kinder)

Communication Updates

Latest News image.png

School Messenger Communication

Great Hearts and Archway Trivium continue to utilize the system School Messenger for emails, robo-calls, and text messaging to inform families of campus related academy emergencies and other communications. SchoolMessenger has a new automatic opt-in for text feature. During the registration/re-enrollment process families confirmed their wish to participate in text communications. Great Hearts will now automatically opt in contact information given during the registration/re-enrollment process with the options you selected. You will notice at the beginning of July you will be opted in for text messaging. If you would like to opt out of text messages simply reply STOP to the text from 67585. You can also enter the code 67585 with the message STOP to block any text messaging. Please note, if opting out, you will not receive texts regarding emergencies on campus.

Email Communications

If you know of parents who are not receiving these communications, please ask them to check their junk/promotions email folders, and then email bmcdonald@archwaytrivium.org for assistance.

You can also find ALL school-wide communications on our website on the Latest News page.
