Volume 4 Issue 16

Friday 4-H Nugget

Greetings 4-H Community,

Many thanks to our volunteers, families and supporters on our county-wide flower fundraiser last month. Below you will find the top 5 selling clubs. Congratulations to you all. There is a lot of planning and happenings over the next couple of weeks. One of the big ones is that FairEntry will be opening up at the end of the month.

It is important that every 4-H member completes FairEntry so that we know what you are bringing to the county fair. We are trying to get all of our tags for exhibits printed ahead of time so please help us out!

All the best,

Robby Kelly & Sthele Greybar

4-H Projects - New Things to Know!

Fair Entry

  • It is super important that all 4-H projects (including Mini 4-H) be entered into FairEntry prior to you bringing the exhibit to the fairgrounds. FairEntry opens May 24. You will receive instructions on how to add your projects to the system. This is critical to our success in July when we need to judge thousands of 4-H exhibits. Please take time to do this. Our office would really appreciate it.

Entry Cards

  • We will use different entry cards this year. They are very similar to what is used at the Indiana State Fair. As such, you do not need to leave space in the lower right-hand corner of your poster project like you normally would. The project will NOT be scored lower if the entry card covers part of the poster. The Indiana State Fair does not mark down for this either.

State Fair Check-out Date

  • New this year, we will no longer be checking-out state fair projects during our fair! State fair project check-out will be on Sunday, July 30 from 2pm-5pm, during the same time as the rest of our project check-out. State fair eligible exhibits will be transported down to Indianapolis the following day, July 31 to be judged and displayed.
