Librarian's Corner

I enjoy games, though I don’t get to play as often as I’d like. I participate in our weekly Cribbage group offered at the Library, but that’s just one game, and there are so many others out there to enjoy.

Matinée Café

The Matinée Café is a monthly movie showing for adults on one Sunday every month!

Mark your calendars--the next Matinée Café will be held on Sunday, April 21st. The house will open at 2pm, and the movie will begin at 2:30. This month's movie is Freud's Last Session (2023, NR).

109 Below

On Wednesday, April 24 at 7:00 pm at the Freedom Town Hall on Elm Street in Freedom, the Friends of the Freedom Library will present a screening of the Arc’teryx short film 109 BELOW, a story of resilience and grit that traces the aftermath of an attempted rescue on Mount Washington in 1982. The film shows how this harrowing event changed not only the course of two climbers’ lives—but also the lives of the rescuers who came to save them and the future of prosthetics forever.

Joe Lentini, a Conway resident and full-time, year-round professional climbing guide, is featured in the film. Joe, who is also the current team leader of New Hampshire Mountain Rescue Service, will introduce the film and lead an audience discussion and Q&A session after.

This free event is open to Freedom residents as well as to the general public. For more information, call 978-473-9534.
