Upcoming Training Opportunities

By the end of this training (1 hour), you will be able to: name at least two ways that stress affects the body, give 2 examples of how you can increase opportunities for students to have choice and empowerment in their classroom setting, and provide two specific examples of how you can help students identify and explore their sense of identity within the classroom setting.

Join us for a workshop about trauma-informed care and resilience-based practices. One of the first steps in this solution is assuring a trauma-informed foundation for communities, organizations, schools, and systems, is to educate everyone: practitioners, their system leaders, supervisors, teachers and educators, community members, and all those who care for and about people. In a comprehensive approach, anyone touching the lives of a person who may have been touched by trauma needs to understand the basic principles of the impact of trauma and the hope of building individual and community resilience. This includes both the traumas of COVID-19 and racism.

By the end of this training (1 hour), you will be able to: identify at least two ways that you can engage in monitoring and managing your own responses to student behavior, name two strategies that can increase reciprocity in your own relationships with the students with whom you work with, and explain two attachment strategies that you can utilize to respond to student behavior.

Choosing child care for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make as a parent or guardian. This session will empower you on what to look for and questions to ask when visiting a center or family day home provider. Discussions about state standards and best practices will help you find the best fit in child care options for your family.

By the end of this training, you will be able to: identify at least two ways that you can engage in monitoring and managing your own responses to student behavior, name two regulation strategies that you can incorporate into classroom routines to help students increase your capacity to tolerate stress and name at least two components of a trauma-informed de-escalation strategy that you can utilize when working with students in your educational setting.

By the end of this session, you will be able to: verbalize an understanding of how your own self-awareness contributes to resilience building with your students and name two resilience-building strategies that you can utilize themselves to strengthen your capacity to handle personal stress.
