Hello Mavericks,

Happy belated Fourth of July! We hope you've enjoyed your holiday. To wrap up this week's events, The Shorthorn has compiled our Independence Day coverage. Our coverage includes events that took place Monday and Tuesday.

Moving on from the holiday, the heat still permeates Texas so learn how to identify and treat heatstroke. Our newest edition of Roulette, a weekly comic by The Shorthorn design desk, might make you shiver at the thought of mail.

Thanks,
Mandy Huynh, Editor-in-Chief
Around 30,000 people crowded the streets of downtown Arlington for the event. It’s one of the largest parades in the U.S.
Attendees at Light Up Arlington also experienced live music, face painting and food trucks Monday evening. See the video.
The event began in 1965 and is one of the city’s longest-running events. This year’s theme was “Let Freedom Sing.”
Amid triple-digit temperatures, Texans should be wary of heatstroke's signs and treatments.
From construction updates to parking permits, here's everything you need to know about summer parking on campus.
Follow along each week to see a Shorthorn illustrator's creative interpretations of random concepts.
