New Film about Mother Cabrini to be Released

On March 8 (International Women’s Day), “Cabrini,” a film about the life and work of St Frances Xavier Cabrini will be released at over 3,000 theaters across the nation. The film tells the story of the incredible odds and obstacles this Italian nun overcame as she and her other sisters worked to serve the waves of Italian immigrants coming to the United States as well as other parts of the Americas in the late 19th and early 20thcenturies. In 1950 Pope Pius XII named her the patron saint of immigrants. The film stars Cristiana Dell’ Anna as the saint herself; John Lithgow as the New York City mayor; and David Morse as the archbishop of New York. Trailer:
