The Church celebrates the Rite of Election and the Call to Continuing Conversion
The Rite of Election is one of several liturgical rites celebrated in the process of Christian Initiation. For many people, this process is known as the RCIA, or Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. The journey of growth in faith is the Catechumenate. In the early Church, small communities took individuals into their company and introduced them to their way of life. Religious persecution prevailed, so a strong faith was demanded in the face of possible martyrdom.

Palm Sunday, Holy Week and Triduum services will again have no restrictions this year and should be celebrated in the usual manner. Please refer to the Roman Missal for rubrics.
It is recommended that on Holy Thursday, for the Washing of the Feet, that individual hand towels be used to dry the feet of each individual, rather than using a single towel to dry the feet of the whole group.
The Holy Eucharist should be reserved in a closed tabernacle. Under no circumstances should it be exposed in a monstrance. Adoration is to end by midnight.
The Easter Vigil is known as the Mother of all Vigils. The rubrics in the Roman Missal which precede the Easter Vigil in the Holy Night state that the Vigil is to begin after nightfall. In San Antonio, that would be approximately at 8:30 PM.
At the beginning of the Easter Vigil, the tabernacle is to be empty. All the hosts for Communion at the Vigil should be consecrated at that Mass, and then the reserved Sacrament may be returned to the tabernacle at which time the tabernacle lamp is lit (but not before).
In the celebration of Confirmation, the Chrism may be applied without the use of a cotton ball or pad, but if you wish to sanitize between Confirmandi, priests are to use wipes, making sure after the Vigil, that these should be disposed of properly by burning. Otherwise, the usual lemon and water may be used, with proper disposal in a sacrarium.

Parish support program for Mental Health Ministry
Mental health issues afflict more than one in five U.S. adults, and one in three youth or adolescents. At this important time, the Church can walk with those who are struggling in a special way. Our parishes can be welcoming homes for the people of God to be cared for, especially those who are feeling pain and experiencing brokenness. This spring, the Archdiocese will invite parishes to apply for grants of up to $2,000 to support parish-based Mental Health Ministries. Parishes may use funds for training of a ministry team, gatherings, signage and hospitality, emergency preparedness materials, and any other needs that support formation or ongoing efforts for mental health ministry. La Iglesia celebra el Rito de Elección y el Llamado a la Conversión Continua
El Rito de Elección es uno de varios ritos litúrgicos que se celebran en el proceso de Iniciación Cristiana. Para muchas personas, este proceso se conoce como RICA o Rito de Iniciación Cristiana para Adultos. El camino del crecimiento en la fe es el Catecumenado. En la Iglesia primitiva, las pequeñas comunidades acogían a personas y les presentaban su estilo de vida. La persecución religiosa prevalecía, por lo que se exigía una fe firme ante un posible martirio.

Los servicios del Domingo de Ramos, Semana Santa y Triduo volverán a estar sin restricciones este año y deberán celebrarse de la forma habitual. Consulte el Misal Romano para ver las rúbricas.
Se recomienda para el Jueves Santo, que en el Lavatorio de los Pies, se utilicen toallas individuales para secar los pies de cada individuo, en lugar de utilizar una sola toalla para secar los pies de todo el grupo.
La Sagrada Eucaristía debe reservarse en un sagrario cerrado. Bajo ninguna circunstancia deberá exponerse en una custodia. La adoración debe terminar a medianoche.
La Vigilia Pascual es conocida como la Madre de todas las Vigilias. Las rúbricas del Misal Romano que preceden a la Vigilia Pascual en la Nochebuena establecen que la Vigilia debe comenzar después del anochecer. En San Antonio, eso sería aproximadamente a las 8:30 p.m.
Al comienzo de la Vigilia Pascual, el tabernáculo debe estar vacío. Todas las hostias para la Comunión en la Vigilia deben ser consagradas en esa Misa, y luego el Sacramento reservado puede ser devuelto al tabernáculo en cuyo momento se enciende la lámpara del tabernáculo (pero no antes).
En la celebración de la Confirmación, el Crisma se puede aplicar sin el uso de una almohadilla de algodón, pero si se desea desinfectar entre Confirmandi, los sacerdotes deben usar toallitas húmedas, asegurándose después de la Vigilia, de que éstas sean desechadas apropiadamente quemándolas. En caso contrario se podrá utilizar el habitual limón y agua, desechándolo adecuadamente en un sagrario.

Programa parroquial de apoyo al Ministerio de Salud Mental
Los problemas de salud mental afectan a más de uno de cada cinco adultos estadounidenses y a uno de cada tres jóvenes o adolescentes. En este momento tan importante, la Iglesia puede acompañar a los que están luchando de una manera especial. Nuestras parroquias pueden ser hogares de acogimiento para que el pueblo de Dios sea atendido, especialmente aquellos que sienten dolor y/o experimentan un quebrantamiento. Esta primavera, la Archidiócesis invitará a las parroquias a solicitar subvenciones de hasta 2,000 dólares para apoyar los Ministerios de Salud Mental parroquiales. Las parroquias pueden utilizar los fondos para la capacitación de un equipo de ministerio, reuniones, señalización y hospitalidad, materiales de preparación para emergencias, y cualquier otra necesidad que apoye la formación o los esfuerzos en curso para el Ministerio de Salud Mental.
