Govt. Adds 458 Examiners to Speed up Patent Clearance Process
In a bid to speed up clearances for patents, designs and trademarks, the Government has added 458 examiners to the existing 130. In addition, 263 examiners will be hired on a contract basis. Applications for trademarks would be cleared within a month by March 2017, said Ramesh Abhishek, Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP).
