Unveiling of "The Grotto" at Canada’s #1 Spa - A Reimagined Wellness Experience



Parksville, BC – January 10, 2024 - Grotto Spa, recently awarded the #1 Spa in Canada by Spas of America, proudly announces the unveiling of its latest transformation: "The Grotto."

Representing a $2.5 million investment, updates include fully renovated locker rooms and will introduce an elevated experience called The Grotto, a blend of nature-inspired elements featuring the introduction of 4 cedar barrel saunas set in an outdoor garden patio.

Scheduled to launch mid-February, "The Grotto" will be a multifaceted experience, designed to elevate the guest journey within the spa. On the outdoor patio, adjoining the mineral pool, guests will discover a relaxing garden patio oasis featuring four cedar barrel saunas and outdoor showers, nestled among picturesque rock formations and lush greenery, forming a tranquil sauna garden.

The Grotto invites guests to embark on a 2-hour communal journey, fostering connections with family, friends, and fellow spa-goers in a social environment. Offering a free-flow leisure experience, guests will enjoy their own personal wellness journey at their own pace, while benefiting from nature’s healing elements of hot and cold, rest, water, and fresh air. Pioneered by the resort owners, it was inspired by their global quest for optimal spa experiences. “The cedar barrel saunas offer a rare place where technology takes a back seat, and it is the ideal space to be present and disconnect from digital distractions.” Says Brian Cocks, Managing Director of Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort.

Key highlights of The Grotto experience include:

Signature Indoor Environment: Mineral Pool, invigorating cool-splash waterfall, Whirlpool, and lounge areas. Designed to emulate a natural stone grotto, the warm water pool is infused with minerals and trace elements to detoxify the body and rejuvenate the spirit. 

Enhanced Outdoor Social Environment: Encouraging guests to connect with friends and family in a rejuvenating ambiance with cedar barrel saunas, outdoor showers, stone fire tables and plush lounge chairs, promoting relaxation and meaningful interactions.
