Community Listening Session with SJPD

Officials from City Hall and the San Jose Police Department will be on hand January 16th at 6PM in the BUSD Boardroom (981 Ridder Park Drive) for a public meeting and listening session focusing on SJPD's Comprehensive Police Redistricting Plan. This event is open to the public, it's your chance to voice your concerns and ask questions relating to SJPD redistricting.

Response to Sideshows Community Meeting

Our neighborhoods and streets are struggling with the loud, unsafe, and illegal phenomenon of "Sideshows" - promoted on social media, these flashmob style gatherings quickly spring up on major intersections and thoroughfares, shutting them down while participants drive recklessly in tight circles, burning up their tires and leaving indelible skid marks on our streets, to the delight of sometimes hundreds of spectators. SJPD has limited resources to deal with these events, especially when multiple sideshows are taking place on different sides of town. Even with these limited resources, SJPD has managed to stop and cite hundreds of sideshow participants, impounding cars, discovering illegal weapons and drugs in the process. Join us January 29th for a community meeting with members of SJPD and San Jose Department of Transportation. It's your chance to hear first hand from the officers on the ground and voice your concerns.

March 5 Election Is Just Around the Corner!

The next big election is March 5th, 2024! The primary election is important because it's how voters decide which candidates will move on to the November General Election, but in primary races where there are only two candidates, the primary election actually decides the race and means the winner of that contest doesn't have to compete in the November General. Get more information about the upcoming March 5th Primary Election HERE.
