Circulogene flourishing in Downtown Pensacola

Circulogene, a specialized oncology diagnostics company, uses patients’ blood to test for molecular biomarkers which may be used to guide targeted and immunotherapy treatment options in cancer patients at the time of diagnosis and recurrence. In 2023, the company flourished, completing a merger and preparing for big growth in 2024.

President & CEO Mike Mullen said 2023 was a year of challenges and successes.

“In 2023 Circulogene experienced record cancer patient volumes,” said Mullen. “We also completed a merger with a large private national diagnostic laboratory and joined its Alliance where we will be the blood-based molecular oncology platform. That partnership should drive new demand for testing from all across the U.S. as well as with potential pathology partners.”

A note from FloridaWest

Community Leaders & Friends of FloridaWest,

Greetings and Happy New Year! Our FloridaWest Board of Directors and staff are excited about the economic growth opportunities we are working on, knowing that important jobs and significant business investments are at stake. Our work continues to involve a wide range of projects small and large, including advanced technologies, manufacturing and non-manufacturing, and domestic and international companies.

It is especially exciting to see the diversity of companies interested in doing business in Pensacola and Escambia County, knowing that their location decisions impact not only the companies but also their employees and their families. As our community’s quality of life — and our reputation as a great place to live — continue to improve, business decisions that involve transferring employees become easier.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the visionary leaders, including elected officials, board members and many others, who continue to invest their time, talents and financial resources to support economic development in Pensacola and Escambia County. Included among them are our economic development “allies” as I like to call them — local and regional economic development professionals who work together as a team to achieve success. Thank you all for what you do.

This is an exciting time for our wonderful community. As someone once said, “if you were born here, you’re just plain lucky, but if you moved here, you’re just plain smart!”

Thank you for your support, and onward to an exciting 2024!

Sincerely,

Brian Hilson
