Alastair Harborne and a team of experts at FIU were awarded a NOAA/NCCOS grant to examine how reef fish utilize nearby seagrass beds for foraging, how this information can be used to improve MPA design, and how foraging may be affected by changes to seagreass health from factors including climate change.
Also from FIU, Randall Parkinson, Jennifer Fu, and Levente Juhasz were awarded a United States Environmental Protection Agency Region 4 Wetlands Program Development Grant to study Enhancing Living Shoreline Suitability Analyses to Optimize Resilience to Future Sea-Level Rise.
