  GA Awards

The mission of the General Aviation Awards program is to recognize individual aviation professionals on the local, regional, and national levels for their contributions to aviation, education, and flight safety. The program is a cooperative effort between the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and many general aviation industry sponsors.

The Florida Aviation Network is proud to be a Diamond Sponsor for this program.

We just produced a video for the 2025 program. Our support will continue at:

Orlando - (ORL) FSDO CFI of the Year - We co-host locally recognizing participants and honorees in the Orlando area along with the Florida Association of Flight Instructors, EAA and other groups.

Lakeland - (LAL) We co-host the recognizing of participants and honorees at SUN ‘n FUN along with SUN ‘n FUN, ACE, FAA Triple Tree and other groups.

Oshkosh - (OSH).- We will have a crew on site to support at Oshkosh and have already begun releasing application timelines for next year.

Congratulations 2024 National Award Winners

Annual Nominationss

Each year, GAA awards and honors the work of three industry members in the categories of flight instruction, aviation maintenance, and aviation safety. A panel of judges selects each honoree from a candidate pool of direct applicants and nominations from around the GA community. GAA is proud to host this long tradition of honoring members of our industry that stand out amongst their peers.

Information on applying and nominating someone for one of

these three categories can be found at www.generalaviationawards.com

Letter of Understanding

We signed a Letter of Understanding (LOU) establishing a formal arrangement between the Federal Aviation Administration Safety Team (FAASTeam) and the Florida Aviation Network in July 2020 to promote aviation safety awareness and training to all airmen and industry service providers.  With this agreement Florida Aviation Network officially becomes a

FAASTeam Industry Member.

The Florida Aviation Network is a project of the National Aviation Safety Foundation.

The FAASTeam's mission is "To lower the Nation's aviation accident rate by conveying safety principles and practices through training, outreach and education while establishing partnerships and encouraging the continual growth of a positive safety culture within the aviation community."

We volunteer with the Florida Aviation Network. Programs are normally broadcast live and pre-recorded through an effort of the National Aviation Safety Foundation, a non-profit 501(C)(3). We carry aviation events from across the United States. The Florida Aviation Network education and training is FREE TO THE PUBLIC.

How can you Help?

The Florida Aviation Network (FAN) is a project of the National Aviation Safety Foundation (NASF), a registered IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. All donations are fully tax deductible. NASF is a group whose objective is dedicated to producing videos and programs aimed at enhancing "aviation safety" through educational programs.

We need your support to continue our work in these programs.

 Be a Volunteer!

Our volunteer production crew members are "professionals" in their own right from airline crews to TV and broadcast professionals. They contribute their time and expertise to make the various projects successful.  During the year we provide extensive support for projects, perform safety seminars and provide wide dissemination of safety related information to all interested parties. These activities are recorded and produced specifically for the individual organizations who we "partner" with to promote aviation safety across the spectrum.

Simply stated, we are an organization that promotes aviation and aviation safety. The "broadcast" and "production" parts of the operation are tools (among others) that we use in order to accomplish those goals.

Support for NASF / FAN

The Florida Aviation Network has year round sponsors that commit to our basic funding. These sponsors, however, are not able to provide enough funding for all our events. FAN is dependent on corporate and private donations.
