The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry-Parry Sound District is advising area residents that a Flood Watch is in effect in the District, which includes the District Municipality of Muskoka, the Territorial District of Parry Sound, and a north-west portion of the County of Haliburton, until Wednesday, April 24, 2019.

Flood Watch aside, a number of members have expressed concern about the seemingly very low water levels on the lake. We asked the MNRF for comment, and they replied,

Water levels on Lake of Bays were drawn down to the bottom of its operating range this year due to above average snow amounts recorded in the area for this time of year. Levels are starting to climb now as snow is beginning to melt with the warm temperatures and rain we have received over the past week. You can expect levels to continue to climb as we receive more warm weather and rain over the coming weeks.

The MNRF also sent us the graph below (click on the graph for a larger version).
