CATTAIL CREEK IS OFFICIALLY OPEN!

I'm happy to officially announce the opening of a new section of the sanctuary - Cattail Creek!

Thanks to your support, we've rescued over 30 cats this past year and that means a new section of the Sanctuary has been needed for more habitats.

Cattail Creek has been designed to include 9 habitats.

Currently, 5 habitats have been built, 2 more are in early-construction phase, and the last 2 will be built next year.

You might remember, we expanded our perimeter fence this past spring in preparation for this expansion.

Bobcat Shrek and cougar Anastasia were the first residents of this new area.

This summer, we've been working hard on Sushi's habitat there, providing her with all the amenities a fishing cat might enjoy:

The planning and construction of her customized habitat has been the result of very hard work by our staff, volunteers, and subcontractors.

And, of course, YOU through your support!

Recently, it was moving day for Sushi and you can watch some of that in this video below. We're very proud of how well she did!

Sushi came to us when an exotic animal dealer with 74 violations of the Animal Welfare Act was finally closed down. She was one of 142 animals seized there.

Going from living in a tiny cage to what you've helped provide for her is a dream come true.

While all this has been going on getting Cattail Creek ready, we've also been preparing for Catio Town's construction.

What an amazing first-of-its-kind facility it will be for the hybrids we rescue, like Jewel. I thought you'd like to watch her story also.
