Baptisms in the Sound, Confirmation and New Members on Sunday
This past weekend we rejoiced in the baptism and confirmation of Olivia and Owen Merrell and welcomed them along with their parents, Jacob and Amy as new members of our First Methodist family. The experience of baptisms in the sound is a true blessing and celebration of new life in Jesus Christ. Our next sound baptism will be held on Saturday, June 1st at 11:00am and we invite you all to come and witness.

The FMC Scholarship Committee
The FMC Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to deserving students as funds permit. Priority for awards goes to members of First Methodist Church. Members of the community at large who are not FMC members may also be considered for awards when qualified FMC members do not apply. Previous recipients may re-apply but must demonstrate progress toward a degree for consideration. Applications will be considered upon financial need, letters of recommendation, academic standing, and extracurricular activities. Applicants may be called for interviews with the Scholarship Committee. Applications and accompanying documentation are due no later than May 31st of the current year. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered. Awards will be announced in June of the current year.

Project MHC is a mission experience that is designed to be a mission trip experience without leaving our county. We will only be working a few short miles away from the church, but for many of our youth, they will be stepping into a world entirely different from their own. This is designed to be an opportunity for youth to grow in their faith while serving as the hands and feet of Jesus.
Youth registration is closed!
Volunteers!
We have many hands as volunteers to participate in Project MHC (Many Hands for Christ) and serve our church and community. Opportunities include small group leaders during the day or evening, small group transportation drivers, shower hosts, prayer partners, and lunch delivery drivers. We have closed online volunteer registration, but if you are able to help please contact Kim Mccoury at kmccoury@firstmethodist.life

Dear Leaders and Congregation of First Methodist,
A note of gratitude to you for your contribution to our "fire fund" after our house fire in January. For years our family has been blessed by First Methodist starting with ELC, during hurricane Florence, and during my husband John's illness and eventual passing. Many people have benefited from your outreach and loving care. We thank you for supporting us during this time.
With sincere gratitude,
Suzanne, Owen, and Tucker Jenkins

Dear church and members,
Thank you for continuing to raise funds for the hospice house on Palm Sunday. We realize it takes many hands to put this on and also many generous donations. This year, we've been informed the proceeds will be $8,692.24. This is wonderful and I can promise you it'll be used to do good things!
Sincerely, Kay Coole - Executive Director
