Power Outage
Due to yesterday's unexpected power outage, the church remains without electricity today. As a result, all activities previously scheduled for today are postponed until next week. These include Bible studies, Youth activities, and meetings held at the church.
The church facilities team is actively working with the local utility company to restore power as soon as possible. However, for the safety and convenience of all church members and guests, it has been decided to reschedule today's events.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. Please stay safe and take care during this outage. We will let you know when the power is restored.

Young Adult Bible Study
Mondays | 7 PM | Church Office Conference Room
Join the Young Adults every Monday at 7 PM in the church office conference room for a dynamic Bible Study. Led by the passionate duo of Meg Hanna and Cheyenne Roth, this engaging study group offers a welcoming space for young adults to explore and deepen their understanding of the Bible. They are studying "Faith Foundations" by David Platt. The Young Adults will ponder questions like: What are we made for? What does it look like to know God deeply? Why are we called to reflect his light to those around us—and how do we do that? Join the group for this 10-week Bible Study as they examine foundational truths for becoming mature disciples of Christ.
Each month, they will take a scheduled Bible Study day for a service opportunity. Whether you're seeking spiritual growth, community connection, or simply a place to ask questions and share insights, you'll find a warm community. If you have questions, please contact Meg (mmochel13@gmail.com, 303-913-9930) or Cheyenne (cheyenne.051800@gmail.com, 817-559-4140).

Join author Rodney Bond for weekly sessions diving into each chapter from his book, "Science and God," Tuesdays through July 9, from 6-7 PM in the Roundtable room (2001). Copies of the book will be provided for use during the class. Each week, he will cover a different topic and chapter of his book. If you have any questions, please contact (rmb0007@gmail.com).

The Story of Scripture
June 14-15 | Westin Hotel Dallas Galleria
You are invited to the "Story of Scripture" event! From Genesis to Revelation, God reveals His master plan of redemption. Jesus is center stage, and we play a central part of the story. At the "Story of Scripture" event, you’ll learn about the threads that weave all of Scripture together, find renewed confidence that God knows what He’s doing, and most of all, see how you can trust Him in the chaos of life.
Taught by Dr. Mark Yarbrough, President of Dallas Theological Seminary, and professor of Bible Exposition, you’ll see in a fresh way, how God designed His great plan of redemption from Genesis to Revelation, and most of all, discover your place in the greatest story ever told.
Be sure and register for the "Story of Scripture." Seating is limited. You can register now at TheStoryofScripture.org. It’s Friday and Saturday, June 14-15, 2024, at the Westin Hotel Dallas Galleria. Lunches are provided as a part of the $79 registration.

On June 30, help us welcome our Kaaga Synod Bishop Nicholas Mutwiri to First Grapevine. This is his first visit to his U.S. church since his appointment as Bishop. He feels especially connected to our church because he was in the first group of evangelists we sponsored under the direction of Dr. Ken Diehm and Bishop William Muriuki. He will be delivering the message in the Traditional Services.
He’s dreamed of visiting our church for several years, and we’ve finally achieved the dream! We will be hosting a lunch in Leach Hall after worship on June 30 to enable everyone to get to know Bishop Nicholas and hear more about our Kenyan evangelist program.

Family Swim
Wednesday | 2 - 5 PM throughout the Summer | Glade Pool
Each Wednesday during the summer, the City of Grapevine allows Grapevine Village families the opportunity to swim free at Pleasant Glade Pool (off Hall Johnson in Grapevine).
Over the years, we have driven the church van for kids requiring pool transportation. We pick the van up at 2:00 (at church), meet the kids at Shady Oaks Mailboxes, swim for about 1.5 hours, we hand out snacks, and then drop each child off at their trailer. Then, we return the van key to the church before 5:00 PM. The children must be eight years old to ride in the van and are always well-behaved. Two adults are required each week, one driver and one to ride along.
Please consider being part of this ministry. We would love it if you bring your children and/or grandchildren along! Would you also spread the word to your Sunday School Classes and Small Groups?
It is hard to describe this ministry; imagine being part of the most fun time of a child’s day! A Wednesday afternoon cannot be more fun! Please sign up below or contact Sue Schultz at seg1024@yahoo.com if you have any questions. Thank you!

Kenya Village Evangelist Sponsors Needed
We are currently in need of sponsors for our evangelists. The evangelists are located in both rural and urban areas and help bring Jesus to those who don’t know Him. These men and women have been responsible for planting many churches in areas that had not been reached. Our Iron Men group helped grow the program by raising funds to purchase motorcycles for the evangelists’ travel.
The cost to sponsor an evangelist is $125 per month. If you are interested in sponsoring or being a part of this program, please contact Mark Howe (mhowe@howewood.com) or Trudy Hughes (trudy.hughes53@gmail.com). They can answer your questions and get you set up to help spread the Word in Kenya!

Thank You From the Latvian Village Team | |
|
The Latvian Village team would like to send a big thank you for your participation at the recent Waffle Breakfast on Mother's Day! We are so grateful and humbled by your generosity and support of the Latvian Village. Because of your generosity, your donations fully covered the cost of the children's vitamins, allergy, and cold medicines. With the money that was left over, we were able to purchase other medications. We will be able to utilize these funds for other mission needs and help with some local mission outreach Riga 1st Church does. These vitamins, medicines, and other support will be distributed to all the local congregations in Latvia, the Hope Center (women and children's shelter), Camp Wesley (kids camp), and Ukrainian refugee families still living in Latvia.
First Grapevine continues to shine Christ's light and love all over the world, which is what we are called to do as the church. Thanks again for your wonderful support of the Latvia Village. God bless you all!
Blessings,
The Latvian Village Team

We had a very joyful event on Tuesday. Despite concerns about it being Memorial Week, the end of school week, and graduation week, we still had 68 dine-in guests and 34 in drive-thru. Our wonderful volunteers, including the kitchen volunteers, hosts, servers, and clean-up crew, made the event a success.
We will transition to our "summer venue" for June, July, and August. The S.A.S.O. organization, consisting of high school-aged boys and girls and their mothers, will volunteer to provide service in their communities during June and July. Additionally, we will utilize some of our regular and new volunteers to help with meal planning and preparation in June, July, and August.
We are excited about the summer and the option for our guests to dine in the Family Life Center or take their meals. Last summer, this option was a big hit when the Young Adults and Youth worked with us. During this time, there will be no drive-thru option.
Our June menu includes meatballs. You can also create a sub sandwich with chips or a pasta plate with garlic bread. Both are served with marinara sauce and cheese. In keeping with the Methodist tradition at this church, there will also be dessert options and additional items to choose from.
We extend our heartfelt thanks once again to all our wonderful volunteers. We greatly appreciate your contributions. Enjoy your summer!
