First Act KC October Newsletter: Dream Big!

OCTOBER 2023

It's officially fall, which means we are just over a month away from kicking off our 2023-2024 season. This season we're inviting you to DREAM BIG and join us for 9 exciting shows. There is truly something for everyone this season. Whether you are a fan of the big showy classics like Hello, Dolly or enjoy the underwater rock n' roll vibes of Spongebob, you're sure to find a new favorite show this season!

Our fall features three shows that you are definitely familiar with from the big screen. We begin with the classic Jerry Herman musical, Hello, Dolly! (November 2-5). Get ready to laugh and cry as this talented cast of 35 wows you with show-stopping production numbers and a heartfelt story. The next weekend (November 9-12), relive all your favorite moments from the classic holiday movie turned musical, A Christmas Story. This cast features some of the most talented kids you've ever seen recreating all your favorite moments from the movie...Red-Ryder BB Gun and Leg Lamp included! Our fall ends with the Pulitzer-prize winning play Harvey (December 15-17). Join us at the brand new Avila Black Box as this cast of 11 presents one of the classics of American comedy.

Winter and Spring are sure to be just as exciting. Auditions for our Winter shows (Tarzan, Junie B. Jones, and Merrily We Roll Along) will take place on December 1, 2023 and auditions for our Spring shows (Legally Blonde, Jr., Matilda, and The Spongebob Musical) will take place on March 8, 2024. Throughout all our shows, characters take chances, try something new, and dream big! We hope you will do the same - whether you're a dedicated audience member seeing a show you never thought you'd like for the first time, or a student taking advantage of our Unified Auditions and auditioning for multiple shows at once, First Act KC continues to be a safe place for trying new things, learning new skills, and developing lifelong community.

First Act KC Studios

This select group of dancers who represent the Dance Studio out in the community. This year, Dance Company will be performing at local festivals and events as well as traveling to New York City for Project Dance in April!

IMPROV TROUPE

Ages: 12-18

Auditions: October 14th 4:00-5:30 PM

First Act KC Studios

The Improv Troupe will be made up of a small group who want to further their Improv skills. Join them for professional private workshops, improv show outings, and First Act KC's NEW Sunday Night Live!
