DECEMBER 2023

In 2023, 500 students participated across our 12 productions. 11,308 patrons bought tickets to those shows. 653 students took classes and lessons from our incredible instructors. 552 students joined us for summer camp. We raised $138,000 at Cocktails and Cabaret and $10,400 through our Giving Day in July. We are so thankful for your support as we inspire excellence, foster character, and build community.

As we look ahead, we have so many exciting things on the horizon. 

Today, we are excited to announce our 2024 Ambassador Families! Tune in to our Facebook and Instagram to see who will be representing First Act KC this year. 

Spring Registration for Private Acting, Private Voice, Dance Studio, and Workshops is open now! Grab your spot now as these tend to fill up quickly! 

Our three winter shows, Tarzan, Junie B Jones, and Merrily We Roll Along are cast and begin rehearsals tomorrow. Tickets on sale now!

Oh, and last but not least, our 2024 Summer Camp Shows & Themes will be announced this Sunday, December 10th at noon! Registration will open for Master Camps on January 16th, mark that date in your calendar.

We cannot wait to see what 2024 has in store for us at First Act Theatre Arts. If you would like to support as we journey through a new year, consider donating to our Year-End Appeal. Donations of any amount are welcomed and help us continue our mission.

Our local SCHEELS is donating $50,000 to the Greater Kansas City Community this December, and they need your help deciding which organizations will receive a donation!

On Friday, December 29th from 3-5 PM, The Crew is sponsoring a special "heart" project to benefit our HEART Program at Cocktails and Cabaret. We want every First Act KC student to come by and make a heart on a canvas. Have your heart design represent you! Be creative! We will have lots of craft supplies there, but also feel free to bring your own if you'd like. Think decoupage, paint, marker, collage, fiber art, mosaic, clay, etc! These canvases will be sold at Cocktails and Cabaret to benefit our HEART Program! We hope to see you there!

THEN, on Saturday December 30th, the Crew is hosting a Winter Wonderland Dance from 7-10 pm at the office. Cost is $25 per person. All FAKC students 14 years and older are welcome to come! Dress in "homecoming" attire and come for music, snacks, dancing, and of course to hang out with your friends over winter break!
