First Act KC February Newsletter: Opening Night!

FEBRUARY 2023

It’s here! Opening Night of Into the Woods kicks off our winter season of shows. If you don’t have tickets yet, now is the time to get them! We are thrilled to be in a new venue - City Stage at Union Station. It is a wonderful little theater that is perfect for our winter Premiere Series Show.

Then, February 9th opens The Music Man at The Bell Center on MNU’s campus. And last, but certainly not least, the Disney favorite, The Little Mermaid opens February 16th at The Goppert Theatre on Avila’s campus. Don’t miss out as these talented casts bring these stories to life, live on stage!

We are so excited to welcome Sean Oleson as our new Bookkeeper! Sean is a parent of First Act KC alumni, and we are so excited to have him on board!

It’s time for our annual fundraiser, a time to gather, celebrate, and raise much needed funds for our organization. This year, we are striving to raise $100,000, more than we have ever raised in a single event in 20 years! But in keeping with our seasonal theme, we believe “It’s Possible!” We hope you will be able to invite your friends, get your tickets and join us in making First Act KC history! Proceeds from the evening will benefit our scholarship fund so no student is denied the opportunity to participate in our programs, as well as help fund some much needed studio improvements.
