December 9, 2021
Greetings!
Community building, education, and conservation are at the foundation of what we do. These pillars, while equally important, would fall without the support of the community and our incredible partners. Thanks to your donations so far, we have met our $20,000 Giving Tuesday match and we still have $90,000 to go through the end of December. Please support our work by making a year-end gift to help us meet our goal!

We work hard to grow and foster our community. Through strategic partnerships and collaboration, our work has come full circle to focus on inclusion, opportunity, and teamwork. We’re proud and grateful for the work we’ve been able to accomplish this year and know that we couldn’t have done it alone.
Partnering for Social Justice and Climate Solutions
Our vision to transform park visitors into park stewards begins with robust partnerships. When we co-create outdoor exploration and science experiences with our 13 Youth in Parks (YIP) partners, we learn from one another and share knowledge, skills, and ideas, because our greatest accomplishments are the ones we achieve together. For Bay Area youth who may not have ever seen the ocean before, providing access to the Seashore is critical. Nothing beats a smile on a child’s face when they rediscover their love for nature.

Thanks to our partnership with the University of California Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources, PRNSA’s first cohort of Climate Stewards (Spring 2021) are out in the world making a difference. Their ability and willingness to communicate and engage in local climate change solutions help build community and ecosystem resilience across California and beyond. We are excited to announce that we just opened registration for our second Climate Stewards course, beginning in March 2022, and have increased our class size to 20 students.
While we’re focused on growing and fostering our diverse community of park visitors, we also recognize the contributions and importance of our community of plants and animals. Together with the National Park Service, independent contractors and scientists, and non-profit partners, we’ve leveraged our strengths to work efficiently and effectively to preserve and enhance Point Reyes National Seashore. From post-fire research and recovery to long-term inventory and monitoring of threatened and endangered species, we’ve collaborated on projects and studies that aim to understand and build resilient systems.

Thank you for being part of our growing community.
Warmly,
Sam Chiriboga
Assistant Director
