New RIFT Law Passed in Iowa

On May 3rd, 2024, Iowa became the first state in the nation to pass RIFT legislation protecting charities. The RIFT (Release IRA Funds Timely) movement is growing across the United States in response to alarming delays thcharitable organizations often face when they attempt to collect gifts left by donors who have passed away. This law aims to make it easier for charities to get claims paid and fulfill their donors' wishes.

IUMF's partner firm Thompson & Associates, who helped in getting this bill passed, is hosting a complimentary webinar about this new law and what it means for Iowa charities. The webinar will be held Monday, June 10th at 10:00am CST. Register here.
