Sahaya Walks 2018, which is held on Sunday October 14, is just around the corner.  We are excited!
Read further for more information, but here are already the top 10 reasons to support Sahaya Walks.
  1. You give HIV-infected children a future by providing them with access to life-saving medicines and better nutrition. Click here to meet the kids and learn how far a few dollars reach.
  2. Even if you cannot attend the event, you can still make a difference by making a tax-deductible donation or create an easy fund-raising page. As we are volunteer-based, 100% of your donation goes to support the kids. Every dollar helps.
  3. Enjoy delicious food, including South-Indian food donated generously by Preethi Indian Cuisine, Davis.
  4. Meet and befriend amazing people.
  5. Enjoy a dynamic cultural program, with Vinita Domier as MC and featuring presentations, Indian songs and dance. Get to see video and pictures of some of the beneficiaries in India.
  6. Free henna designs for your hands, arms or legs. Also face-paint and origami!
  7. Photo booth: have a photo taken as "you are" or with a fun, new look. We'll email you the picture. You can post it on your social media page, and hash-tag it with #sahayawalks.
  8. Walk one of the most scenic streets in Davis on a beautiful autumn day.
  9. You get a T-shirt or wrist-band; wear it and share that you care.
  10. You'll leave the event feeling happy and inspired.

Sahaya Walks is an annual educational & fundraising family event that provides an opportunity for  people of all ages  -young and old-  to make a difference in the lives of 33 HIV-infected children and youth in our programs in India, by providing life-saving medicines, health-care, education, shelter and food.

There will be delicious Indian food (offered by Preethi Indian Cuisine), a cultural program with music and dance, short presentations (including recently recorded videos of several of the HIV+ youth in India), fun activities (including face-painting, henna and a photo booth), and a 10-minute walk. We will share our hopes for an AIDS-free future.

Come celebrate that YES, we can make a difference!

All proceeds go to Sahaya's programs that provide health and a future to 33 HIV-infected children and youth in  India. Thanks to our previous events, we have not lost a single child because of HIV/AIDS in 12 years. Several of the first kids who enrolled in our program nearly 15 years ago are currently in college and recently 4 of them have completed their college degree. Two of them have recently been hired by our partner organization READ to assist with the orphan support programs and start a special HIV+ youth club to organize extra skill-building activities.

This year we have also as special guest Mr. Selvam, the founder and director of our Indian partner organization READ, that directly takes care of the HIV+ children and youth for whom we raise support. Thanks to the many programs of READ, the adults and youth of this community are building a better future through improved education, healthcare and socio-economic opportunities such as small businesses and vocational training. We are honored to have a role in their work, and are proud that Mr. Selvam will be special guest at Sahaya Walks.
