Thank you for being part of the 3rd Annual TMC Earth Day 5k at the Biosphere 2! | |
|
Once again, we want to thank all 812 of you for being part of the 3rd Annual TMC Earth Day 5k.
Here's a link to the first race report we sent on Sunday afternoon with photos from John Harris, but below is a more detailed race report, with updates on results and awards, some new photos from Damion Alexander, and another round of thank-you's to sponsors, volunteers, and donors.
Click here for the full race results at www.roadrunnerracetiming.com, including a click-through to the finish video for every participant.
Click here for the age-group listing. If you did not pick up your age-group award at the race, you can stop by the Running Shop at 3055 North Campbell to pick up the gift card. After unloading the truck and cleaning up the garage, we found 5 extra shirts and have brought 'em to the Running Shop.
As a special thanks for being part of this wonderful Arizona running community, farther below find a $10 discount code to the November 2nd Grand Canyon Trail Half Marathon and 5k.
Oh, and we've set early pricing for the 2025 TMC Earth Day 5k at the Biosphere 2. Click here to sign up now to guarantee your spot for a mere $20, good through the end of April!
Our next Run Tucson event is the TMC Meet Me Downtown 5k and Raising Cane's Festival of Miles on June 1st. Remember, groups of 5 or more can save $5 per person!
In the meantime, the next event by our friends at the Southern Arizona Roadrunners is the Cinco de Mayo 10k, 5k, and FitKidz Mile on May 5th.
See you at the races!

The top woman was Oro Valley's Jori Galles, running for the Workout Group and Run Tucson Northwest. Jori led the overall race for a bit, before finishing the race in third overall in 19:26, a new course record.
She is flanked by second-place finisher from Flagstaff, Addie Peak (on left) and third place finisher Jordan Fender, from Cave Creek.

|
Congratulations to overall winner, Boaz Maiyo (in the middle). He ran a super-smart race, chasing Jori Galles and eventual runner-up Israel Mendoza (on left) until making a big move over the final mile to take first place in 18:50.
Third place went to last year's winner, Caleb Grady (on right).

|
First place in the men's master's division went to Dave Dixon, Southern Arizona Roadrunners Board Member.
The winner of the women's master's division was Julie Pangburn.

Southern Arizona Roadrunners: It was great to see our long-time partner, the Southern Arizona Roadrunners, at the Biosphere 2. We enjoyed being a Good Neighbor race with SAR this year -- thanks to them for their yoga mats and foam rollers and PR Bell!
Their next race is the Cinco de Mayo 10k, with a 5k walk/run and a FitKidz free mile. See registration information at www.runsar.org.
Chair Athletes and Team Hoyt: We are mightily impressed with all of our chair athletes -- congratulations to all of you, both self-propelled and those partnerships. A special thanks, too, to the Team Hoyt Arizona community for being such a great part of our fitness community.
