Friends, It was incredible to see so many new faces at the Soviet Jewish Photojournalism event this week. Check out some photos of the event by Max Noy and tag your friends. We are happy to be creating programs that speak to you and would love your input on future programs. Contact us to share ideas and brainstorm. On Tuesday the 9th join us for a high energy, high emotion film about Israel's diversity, democracy and settlement struggles. We encourage you to file your taxes early so that on Sunday the 14th, you can relax and join us for a day long Tax Hike upstate. This month's Shabbat @ home will be on the UWS (but its not too late to open your home and host an RJen Shabbat). Because late this month we celebrate Lag BaOmer, a holiday that takes people into the fields, we invite you and your families to an afternoon at a beautiful upstate camp to enjoy festivities and workshops for kids, many in Russian. We will even provide transportation. Spring is so so near...

"Unsettled" a film screening Tuesday, April 9th, 6:30pm
Featuring music from Grammy-nominated reggae superstar Matisyahu, the story is told in these kids' own words, seen through their eyes, and heard to the beat of their music.
"Unsettled" is the award-winning, high-energy, music-driven, stereotype-busting film that paints a picture of Israeli diversity, democracy, and humanity that is both complex and compelling - like the story of Israel itself.
During the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, the film features six young Israelis - soldiers, surfers, religious settlers and activists -who must come to terms with one another in their generation's struggle to secure Israel's future and define its identity
Three young Israelis will be forced from their homes, two soldiers will be sent to evict them, and one activist will try to help her country avoid a war. UNSETTLED is the story of a generation on the front lines of a nation's battle against itself. About the film Where: UJA Federation of NY 130 East 59th Street, NY NY Cost: $8 in advance, $10 at the door Wine and cheese to be served Contact: Misha Gorn misha.gorn@rjeneration.org

April 3-7th, 2013 A son and his father... A man and his mistresses... A poet and his country... A genius, captive of his time..
a unique drama in which the distinct echoes of Chekhov's "Seagull" is in the peculiar intertwine with the life and artistic career of the Noble Prize winner Joseph Brodsky. The production was very well accepted by both theatre-goers and critics. Ask Joseph is not a story about a particular individual. Rather it is about those who had the courage to drastically change their lives by abandoning their familiar environments, and end up on the verge of catastrophic cultural and emotional divisions. Love, mystery, adultery, scandal and spies are just a few of the turns and twists of the plot.
Where: The ArcLight Theatre, 152 West 71 Street, New York, NY 1002 (Wednesday - 7:30 pm, $23; Thursday, Friday - 7:30 pm; Saturday - 3pm and 7:30 pm; Sunday - 6pm, $30)

About RJeneration
Born in the Soviet Union -- made in AmericaWe came to America as kids and teens, brought by our parents. Some were born enroute, and some were born here. We are a generation of Americans with a second culture and language, a Russian heritage, Jewish roots, and a defining immigrant experience. We've juggled our "hybrid" Russian-Jewish-American identity throughout our lives. Many of us went to the top high schools and colleges in the country. English is our primary language, but we still speak Russian. Runglish is also our style. We're Jewish, despite yeshiva traumas. We're in our 20's and 30's, busy building successful careers in every imaginable field. Some of us are already household names - Sergey Brin, Gary Shteyngart, David Bezmozgis, Lenny Krayzelberg, Mila Kunis, Regina Spektor. Many others are sure to follow and make their mark. The RJeneration community brings us together to network, make connections, explore the richness of our unique Russian-Jewish-American identity, showcase and celebrate RJeneration's rising stars, and engage in Russian and Jewish life all around us.For more information visit our website at: http://www.RJeneration.org
