  As 2017 comes to a close, it is now time for us to renew contracts for the Heritage Home Program in 2018. Emails will be delivered to city officials in mid-December, and will include the HHP renewal letter, invoice and a statistics report detailing activity in your community from 1/1/2017 through 12/1/2017.  
 
We hope that you will continue your participation into the coming year. We need to receive your renewal payment by February 1st. This will provide us with enough time to prepare the spring mailing to homeowners.

If a city staff member or councilperson did not receive renewal information but would like to, please contact us at hhp@heritagehomeprogram.org and we'll add them to our contact list for future updates and reports.

Welcome to New Partner City
Oberlin Now Participating

The Heritage Home Program is pleased to welcome the City of Oberlin as  a participating city starting December 1, 2017!  Oberlin joins North Randall, Strongsville, Maple Heights, and Elyria as our newcomers of 2017. We look forward working with homeowners in this new partner community.

Getting Your Home Winter Ready

Beyond stocking up on salt and making sure snow blowers are in working order there are other important steps to ensuring your home is winter ready!
  • Make sure you clean those gutters! This can prevent problematic basement leaks from forming.
  • Caulk any masonry cracks that may have formed in the summer months as well as around windows and doors. This will help keep heating costs down.
  • Have your furnace or boiler inspected to ensure everything is in working order before the first big freeze sets in!
  • If you haven't had your chimney cleaned in a while now's the time to call in a chimney sweep, especially if you plan on using your fireplace regularly this winter! It is recommended that you have your chimney cleaned once a year.
