Local mosaic artist James Talbot visits Blue Moon to teach his signature technique.
Learn how to create durable sculptural objects, functional or non-functional, using ferrocement. You'll learn the basics of making a steel armature, covering it with plasterer's lath, mixing mortar, plastering, and finishing. You will end up with a finished, weatherproof, durable object or sculpture up to 2' in height and/or width.
Basic tools and materials will be supplied, although it will be helpful to bring both leather and heavy latex/rubber gloves, long sleeves, pliers, sponges, mason's trowels, & any light steel you have
You will be emailed homework to complete before the class.
