Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held next Thursday, September 21.

Parents/Guardians are encouraged to sign up for a conference with the teachers of their child(ren). We ask that only one time slot be used per child, per teacher. Fenwick encourages our teachers to be active throughout the community, especially with student activities. For this reason, some of our teachers have limited availability on conference night. If this is the case for a teacher you wish to meet with, please email the teacher explaining the reason you wish to meet and ask to set up a time that works for both of you. A sign up is required for a conference with a teacher--no walk-ins.

Signups will end at 11:59PM on Tuesday, September 19

  • Teachers with last names of A-F - click here for signup.
  • Teachers with last names of G-K - click here for signup.
  • Teachers with last names of L-O - click here for signup.
  • Teachers with last names of R-W - click here for signup.

If you have not aIready returned your form, you can still send it in. Please return it to the main office by Monday, September 18. Click here for the form.

Ed Choice Reminders

The State of Ohio recently passed House Bill 33, which means Ohio Students are now eligible for a full or reduced EdChoice Expansion Scholarship regardless of income level.

All EdChoice documents, instructions, and how to guides are located on the Bishop Fenwick website under the Admissions tab.

Paper versions of the enrollment form and information packet are also available in Fenwick’s main office during school hours.

Due to the high volume of applications being submitted by Fenwick and throughout the State of Ohio, it is highly recommended to have all documents submitted to Fenwick and income verification documents uploaded to the State of Ohio no later than Friday, September 22, 2023.

If you have any questions about the program please contact Fenwick’s EdChoice Administrator at mwagner@fenwickfalcons.org.

Counseling Connections

Flock Block with the Counselors

Counselors reconnected with their sophomores. Students spent some time updating their SCOIR accounts and looking over the new Career Discovery tools available to them in SCOIR.

Class of 2027

Mrs. Weisbrod visited Mobile Computing classes during Collaboration Time to work with the freshmen through a Learning Styles Inventory. The students were then led to a list of study suggestions most suited for their learning type. Both their results and the suggestions are available in their Class of 2027 OneNote. In addition, the freshmen completed a Multiple Intelligences assessment with their flock teachers. The results are saved with their SOAR materials. Students were given a ranking of their “SMARTS” (i.e., Picture, Self, Nature, Number, etc.). The purpose of these exercises is to assist our freshmen in knowing themselves better by identifying their strengths and learning how best to maximize them.

The requirements that will be considered for this scholarship are financial need, a GPA of 2.5 or higher, academic awards, community and/or parish involvement, and extracurricular activities. K of C has a particular desire to help students, who may be considering a religious vocation, stay in a Catholic High School to foster and encourage that calling. Deadline is November 24. Click here for more information and the application.

 Enrichment

Want to Learn More about What a Pharmacist Does? Consider attending the University of Findlay’s Pharmacy Day on Friday, October 13. Email your counselor if interested.

Testing

While most colleges in this area of the country are remaining test optional for the foreseeable future, more and more schools to the south and southeast of Ohio are integrating tests scores back into their list of required application materials. Students are highly encouraged to do their research early so they can create an effective testing plan.

Wellness Tip

Remember being little and playing “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes”? Let’s elevate that experience! Take a few minutes each day to evaluate how you are doing. Start with your body, then your heart, then your mind, then your soul. If something does not feel quite right, devise a plan to improve it. It is okay not to be okay sometimes. We all experience unpleasant emotions. They are a part of life. If they become too intense, overwhelming, or all-encompassing, especially over an extended period, then it may be time to seek professional input. The thing to remember is that we all have strengths, tools, and support we can utilize. In the words of Robert Frost, “The best way out is always through.”
