Flock Block with the Counselors
Counselors reconnected with their sophomores. Students spent some time updating their SCOIR accounts and looking over the new Career Discovery tools available to them in SCOIR.
Class of 2027
Mrs. Weisbrod visited Mobile Computing classes during Collaboration Time to work with the freshmen through a Learning Styles Inventory. The students were then led to a list of study suggestions most suited for their learning type. Both their results and the suggestions are available in their Class of 2027 OneNote. In addition, the freshmen completed a Multiple Intelligences assessment with their flock teachers. The results are saved with their SOAR materials. Students were given a ranking of their “SMARTS” (i.e., Picture, Self, Nature, Number, etc.). The purpose of these exercises is to assist our freshmen in knowing themselves better by identifying their strengths and learning how best to maximize them.

Students are highly encouraged to do their research early so they can create an effective testing plan.
Wellness Tip
Remember being little and playing “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes”? Let’s elevate that experience! Take a few minutes each day to evaluate how you are doing. Start with your body, then your heart, then your mind, then your soul. If something does not feel quite right, devise a plan to improve it. It is okay not to be okay sometimes. We all experience unpleasant emotions. They are a part of life. If they become too intense, overwhelming, or all-encompassing, especially over an extended period, then it may be time to seek professional input. The thing to remember is that we all have strengths, tools, and support we can utilize. In the words of Robert Frost, “The best way out is always through.”
