Greenlighting May:

Mental Health Awareness Month

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month in May, Felton Institute led Mental Health America’s “Light Up Green” campaign for the local Bay Area, where buildings across the country lit up green to help spread mental health awareness.

Felton was honored to host two “Light Up Green” events in San Francisco and Alameda. San Francisco’s tallest building, the Salesforce Tower, joined Felton’s Alameda Headquarters to light up their building green to show support for Mental Health Awareness.

It was simply beautiful. The bright green tower could be seen all over SF and Oakland.

Felton HQ did not disappoint either! Felton held viewing parties for both events with snacks, music, and glow sticks. Leadership, staff, families, and community members joined in on the fun and recognition of the importance of mental health for all!

(re)MIND® Alameda Open House

Felton’s Early Psychosis programs (re)MIND® and BEAM hosted their annual Mental Health Awareness Open House party to celebrate everyone who has shown their support and made these programs a success!

This year’s theme was “Aiming High and Reaching for the Stars.” Clients shared how (re)MIND® & BEAM have positively impacted their lives and expressed gratitude for the life-changing programs.

Attendees enjoyed delicious food and drinks, fun games, prizes, a photo booth, and interactive activities!

“Aftershock” Film Screening

In honor of Black Maternal Health Week, Felton Institute was honored to join the Black Leadership Council (BLC) to co-host a powerful film screening of “Aftershock” and a post-film panel discussion at the Historic Grand Lake Theatre in Oakland.

This important film highlights the painful realities surrounding Black maternal mortality and how two surviving Black fathers turned their pain into activism and healing for others in the same circumstances.

The event was informative, emotionally impactful, and spurred heartfelt conversations about ways to seek justice for health equity through legislation, medical accountability, and community mobilization.
