Hello again! I'm Trey Gaines, Director of the Bartow History Museum. I hope you enjoyed traveling into the past in January via social media as we looked at Main Street in Cartersville over time. Through our posts, we shared photos of the views, buildings, and businesses along this important thoroughfare. We even visited a few Main Streets outside of Cartersville. We hope you enjoyed the trip.

In February, we want to dig deep into our archives and see what interesting photos of Bartow County businesses we can find. Hopefully, we'll share some that are new to you. So, follow us on social media as we continue to explore Bartow County's past together.

Bartow County's African American Heritage Trail

This is the perfect time to get into the car and take a driving tour. Pick up your African American Heritage Trail brochure at the Bartow History Museum and set out to discover more local history. Along the trail you will learn of some of the early African American owned businesses such as Younger Cleaners and Gassett's Grocery, plus a whole lot more. The brochure is published by the Cartersville-Bartow County, GA Convention & Visitors Bureau.
