Rainbow Days is keeping our Easter Eggstravaganza tradition alive to meet homeless families’ critical tangible needs and deliver springtime joy by focusing on the families we serve living in motel sites and our Collin County families living in homeless shelters in Plano. This spring, Rainbow Days will be providing Easter "Boxes" instead of Easter Baskets to help with easier distribution. The boxes will have Easter eggs, Easter fun mixed in with essential tangible items for these children, youth and parents who are in need of extra help this season. RDI will not be hosting an in-person event but will be sharpening our focus by directly delivering to more than 150 children and families to create this personal Easter experience.

EASTER EGGS & BASKETS: Please drop off Easter eggs and Filled Easter Containers directly to the Rainbow Days office anytime Monday-Friday, between 9:00am-5:00pm.

12221 Merit Dr, Suite 1700, Dallas, TX 75251.

Drop off deadline is Wednesday, March 29. Please write the full count of eggs you are dropping off somewhere on the package or bag for inventory purposes. Also, please fill out the form that will be provided to you at the welcome desk, with your information.

Community Connection Spotlight:

Celebrating Black History Month

Community Connection team members Carolyn Payne, Shamila Dubose, and Keisha Tyler supported Dallas County Juvenile Department as it commemorated Black History Month on February 10th by promoting cultural awareness and sponsoring a scholarship for referred youth in the Dallas County Juvenile Department. Community Connection was honored to host a table at the fair and provided mental health resources and treats for the approximately 500 youth, family members, and agencies in attendance at the College and Resource fair provided in observance of Black History. This in-person opportunity provided a refresh for agencies and families wanting to re-engage, after a long pandemic absence, in supporting the Dallas County Juvenile Department.

Family Connection Spotlight:

Pay It Forward.

As we venture into creating new partnerships and relationships this year, we reflect on the many people's stories that have touched us along the way. One of our amazing facilitators recently received a touching message that expresses why we are committed and passionate to helping kids rise above adversity.

"Hi, I know you probably don't remember me, but I recently found my journal in the back of my closet. I was looking through it, and I realized that you had written me a caring note on the back of it. I wanted to share that you really helped me at a time when I needed it most. I just wanted to thank you for that."

The young lady shared that she will be 19 in March, "I can honestly say I am happy now. When I met you, I wasn't very happy. I was going through a lot, but as time passed and I learned a lot about life and myself as I got older. You helped me with that."

Rainbow Days facilitator discussed the bright future that this young lady has in store and reminded her to always to pay it forward...

"“I would say to any superintendent or principal, 'You need this curriculum because it's going to change the whole tenor of your school. It's going to move your children from a place of being scared and afraid to a place of power and sense of belonging. The guided implementation and practice of the program's tenants - I Am, I Can, I Have, I Will, I Believe - will transform your campus to a place no one will recognize.'”

Valorie Horn, Program Director, V.O.I.C.E. (Viable Options in Community Endeavors)

Partner Spotlight:

Leadership Cadet Corp (LCC) at

W.E. Greiner's Exploratory Arts Academy

Rainbow Days is proud of our four-year partnership with the Leadership Cadet Corp (LCC) at W.E. Greiner's Exploratory Arts Academy. Community Connection team members, Keisha Tyler and Shamila Dubose look forward to their weekly visits at Greiner as the LCC staff, Chief James Roseborough, Master Sgt. Wayne Pridgett, Sgt. Quaina Brown, and Sgt. Trevor Davis are always first in class. They show up without fail for the kids and always bring their A-game. These fab four provide for their students. They feed them when they're hungry, listen to them when they're struggling, and set high expectations for them while walking with them when life is hard. . . because they care! We thank the W. E. Greiner LCC for all they do.
