Meet Lauren (Little) & Alana (Big)
Lauren is a 5th grader at Elm Park Community School in Worcester, whose love for volleyball runs deep. Inspired by her aunt's coaching journey, Lauren dreams of one day becoming a professional volleyball player. When it came to finding the perfect Big for Lauren, her Match Support Specialist reached out to the WPI women's volleyball team. Enter Alana, a sophomore at WPI studying biomedical engineering and a force to be reckoned with on the volleyball court.
From the moment they connected, Lauren and Alana hit it off, bonding over their shared passion for volleyball and academics. As they swapped stories about their lives, they discovered even more common ground. With Alana as her mentor, Lauren not only gains a role model to look up to but also a friend she can confide in and seek advice from. Both Lauren and Alana feel fortunate to have crossed paths and are excited to continue building upon their relationship!

Board Chair Lynette Paczkowski announced the election of Emily Trevallion to the Board of Directors, bringing valuable expertise in media relations. The event also celebrated the re-election of several members.
The highlight of the evening was a performance by Serenity Jackson, a Little our program and Worcester’s Youth Poet Laureate, who shared an original poem about her journey within the program. Additionally, Marty Kelly of the College of the Holy Cross received the inaugural Cornerstone’s in your Corner Award for his impactful work with SPUD, a program that collaborates with Big Brothers Big Sisters to engage students in community service.
