This one-day workshop focuses on practical and advanced rigging, estimation of weight, and proper cuts associated with crane use. It will include class time and an outdoor demonstration. Mark Chisholm, working arborist, instructor and ISA World Champion Climber will lead the workshop.

Oak Wilt Qualification Course and Assessment

Weatherford: May 23-24, 2019

Fredericksburg: June 20-21, 2019

Join the Texas A&M Forest Service and the Texas Chapter ISA for the Oak Wilt Identification and Management Qualification Course and Assessment. This two-day workshop is for ISA Certified Arborists and will show you how to identify and manage oak wilt in Texas.

Each participant that successfully complete s the course and passes the assessment will receive the status of Oak Wilt Qualified. Their qualification will be noted on the Texas Oak Wilt and ISA Texas Chapter websites as well as on any handout and other materials referencing qualified individuals. Dr. David Appel, Texas A&M and Robert Edmonson, Texas A&M Forest Service will be conducting the training.

If you are Oak Wilt Certified (you took the workshop prior to 2016) - your Oak Wilt Certification will expire in June!

Tree Risk Assessment Qualification Renewal
April 17, 2019 in College Station
Registration Deadline March 18

The TRAQ Renewal Course is a one-day refresher, with five hours of instruction, and three hours to take the exam. Current TRAQ holders can complete the course as early as three and one-half (3 1/2) years into their Qualification (18 months before your expiration date). If you received a Tree Risk Assessment Qualification between April 17, 2014 and October 17, 2015, you can  register for this renewal. 

Once you have successfully passed the renewal requirements, you will be given 5 years from the date of your previous expiration allowing you to take full advantage of the 5 year period granted with the credential.

Join the Texas Chapter ISA for the ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) 2-day educational course followed by a 1/2 day assessment that includes both a written and field component. Your instructor will be Skip Kincaid.  

Wildfire Risk Assessment Qualification Course and Assessment

The threat wildfire poses to residents of Texas increases everyday as more people move into once natural areas. We know that it is not a question of if a fire will start, but when.
 
The Texas A&M Forest Service and Texas Chapter ISA have developed this credential to introduce you to new terms and principles to incorporate into your arboriculture practice.   As an ISA Certified Arborist, have you considered how your skills and experience can improve the safety and quality of tree care to protect Texans and ecosystems from wildfire? By taking the Wildfire Risk Assessment Qualification course, you will become more knowledgeable about how to evaluate and mitigate property from the threat wildfire poses. 

Bilingual Tree Worker Workshop - Taller Bilingue del Cuidado y Seguridad de Arboles

It is time for the 10th Bilingual Tree Care & Safety Workshop in San Antonio. Learn from tree care leaders Mark Chisolm and Eduardo Medina to take your knowledge and career to new heights.  Keynote speaker Mark Chisolm and Eduardo Medina will conduct 'Basic Rigging' and 'Rigging in Compromised Trees' indoors. In the field demonstrations will visually show the rigging forces present under load.  Molly Keck will discuss 'Important Insects of Central Texas' and Emmett Muennink will demonstrate tree injection equipment that can manage insects and disease.
